Some have asked what is this Barnyard Classic thing. Here's the skinny on this sacred and somewhat mysterious gathering down on the farm.
One day Johnny was pondering what the VBC could do with his wonderful homestead. He had old dirt bike trails on the wooded hill behind the house that he had used for training back when he made it into the FTF hall of fame. He was a stud once upon a time. "That's it!" He proclaimed to his dog Ike. "We can have race right here on the farm!" The BYC was born! This 'race' really is just a gathering of old mountain bikers, new mountain bikers, people that aren't sure what mountain biking is, significant others talked into an event that is really easy, old friends, new friends, and just generally cool kats looking for a good time. Throw a roadie or two in and you've got yerself a genuine VBC event. I look forward to the BYC every year. It's a great time to to get on a bike, have few refreshments, partake in a great potluck dinner, sit around a bonfire, and camp out on the farm.
